The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rescheduled the process of door-to-door verification of the voters which will now start from August 8, aimed at making transparent and error free computerised electoral rolls (CER) 2011.
An official of ECP informed the APP that the verification process, which was earlier decided to start from July 18, will now start from August 8.
The date of verification process has been extended after the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) sought more time to print the draft electoral rolls of 85.1 million adult population.
Around 124,000 people are being trained by the ECP to conduct verification at the newly devised 145,000 census blocks across the country.
The teams will complete the verification process in their respective census blocks till September 17 and submit data to the ECP.
In this regard the information of the citizen with the age of 18 years will be collected.
The final voter list will be displayed for 21 days in the month of October at different locations across the country so that the citizens can check their names and complain about any error, objection and correction.
