A delegation of Awami National Party (ANP), headed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain, visited Peshawar-based Afghan Consulate General and expressed grief over the death of Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s brother Ahmad Wali Karzai.
The delegation comprised of Asfandyar Wali’s son, Aimal Wali Khan, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Provincial Minister Barrister Arshad Abdullah and ANP Provincial General Secretary Tajuddin Khan. The ANP delegates met Afghan Consul General Syed Muhammad Ibrahim Khel and offered Fateha for the departed soul.
Condemning the brutal killing of Ahmad Wali Karzai, the information minister said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and its people mourned the death of Ahmad Wali Karzai. He said his party’s chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, Provincial President Afrasiab Khattak and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti were abroad and were thereby unable to come.
Mian Iftikhar said the global game, being played in Pakistan and Afghanistan, is hurting innocent people. He, however, said Pakistan had always sacrificed their land and the nation and will not hesitate from any sacrifices in future. The minister hoped that peace is restored in the region. “We were with Hamid Karzai in this difficult moment and will jointly face brutalities imposed on us,” he maintained.
