Pakistan remembers Aitzaz Hassan on his 5th martyrdom anniversary

On his 5th death anniversary, Pakistan remembered the 16-year-old Aitzaz Hassan who embraced martyrdom while tackling a suicide bomber outside his school in Hangu.

On January 7, 2014, Hassan was standing outside his school when he noticed the bomber trying to enter the building. The 16-year-old grabbed the bomber and stopped him from entering his school, where hundreds of children were present at the time. The terrorist blew himself resulting in the martyrdom of Aitzaz Hassan.

He was awarded Sitara-e-Juraat by Government of Pakistan.

Remembering his sacrifice, the politicians, the Inter-Services Public Relations director general (ISPR DG) and people paid him tribute on Twitter.

Paying him the tribute, Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Hussain Chaudhry tweeted: “Today is the Death Anniversary of Shaheed young boy sacrificed his life but saved 100s of students by preventing a suicide attack on a Hangu School, toNight PTV ll telecast a Film by Shahzad Rafique on this young boy,

Saluting Hassan’s bravery, ISPR DG Major General Asif Ghafoor said: “Salute to your bravery .”

Sharing his father’s quotes, one social media user wrote: “My son made his Mother cry but saved hundreds of Mothers from crying for their children.” Father of Nation salutes you!”.

Remembering his sacrifice, another wrote: “If Pakistan is peaceful and still surviving it is just because of people like . We will always remember you in our prayers. Nation salutes you.”

Admiring Hassan’s big heart, one wrote: “No one has a more big heart for humanity then . He should be awarded the noble prize.”

Praising Hassan, an Indian wrote: “Today is death anniversary. This 15-year-old boy prevented suicide bombers from killing hundreds of children of his school and sacrificed his life in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 6th Jan 2014. Salute to the Hero Of Humanity.”

Highlighting the bravery of Pakhtoons, one person wrote: “دہشتگردوں کے گولیاں بارود ختم ہوجائیں گے لیکن پختونوں کے سینے کبھی ختم نہیں ہونگے۔.”
