ISLAMABAD: Soon after Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda refused to appear before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on short notice, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday said that the minister had not even been summoned by PAC.
“I am not anyone’s baap ka naukar [servant of anyone’s father]. If you call someone for his viewpoint or suggestion, you give him 15 to 20 days; there is a procedure that exists,” Vawda had said earlier in the day.
Reacting to the minister’s statement, Marriyum said that Vawda had not even been invited to attend the next meeting of the PAC while keeping in view his “competence and attitude”.
“I suggest him [Vawda] to go through the rules and regulations of the committee so that he doesn’t have to face such embarrassment again,” she said and told the federal minister to refrain from coming up with “fake invites”.
Marriyum further said that had Vawda read the notice, he would’ve known that only the secretary had been summoned and he had nothing to do with it.
