–Murtaza Wahab says matter cannot be discussed in assembly as it is sub-judice

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Khurrum Sher Zaman on Monday submitted an adjournment motion in the provincial assembly seeking debate on a joint investigation team’s (JIT) report on money laundering and fake accounts case.

The motion argued that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had abused his authority after offering to assist in criminal activities.

It further said that unlawful benefits were given to Omni Group by the chief minister.

“We won’t let the assembly session run smoothly if our motion is rejected. Our prime demand is to replace Murad Ali Shah,” Zaman said while talking to reporters.

“The province was given to the chief minister as a responsibility, he turned out to be a facilitator for the Omni Group,” he added.

Zaman claimed that Shah had gifted temple lands to his aides as well.

In response to a question, the PTI leader said that the next Sindh chief minister should not be from former president Asif Ali Zardari’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) but from the original PPP.

MURTAZA WAHAB SAYS MATTER SUB-JUDICE:

Adviser to the Sindh chief minister Murtaza Wahab, in response, said that in accordance with the rules and regulations of the assembly, matters that are sub-judice cannot be discussed.

“PTI submitted the adjournment motion to make breaking news. They wouldn’t have submitted it if they had read rules of business.”

“We have unveiled such conspiracies before and will continue to do so.”

Speaking with regards to a possible forward bloc in the PPP, he said that “they [PTI] are claiming of a forward block in PPP, they don’t have a single Jiyala with them. We are united under the party’s philosophy. JIT report is not holy scripture, we will appeal against it”.
