ISLAMABAD: The doors of President House, located in the highly protected Red Zone, were opened once again for the general public on Saturday.
A large number of citizens, including females, kids and elderly, entered the spacious house after showing their national identity cards (NIC) from 9am to 4pm, excluding two hours break.
All visitors appreciated this step taken by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government, that had announced to make state-owned structures and buildings accessible to the general public.
The visitors rejoiced at the ease to stroll in the spacious and lush green lawns as well as the historic hall of the President House where official ceremonies were held.
The children appeared to be the busiest ones as they were mesmerised with the sight of animals in the zoo and ran all over the place.
Earlier on December 8, the President House was opened for the general public for the first time.
As part of the government’s promise, the Punjab Governor House in Lahore and Murree had also been opened for the public, followed by the opening of the Sindh Governor House in Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor House in Peshawar.
