LAHORE: Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) B A Nasir on Saturday lauded the professionalism of police officers and officials belonging to the Christian community and said they were greatly contributing to maintain the law and order situation in the city.
“The Christian community, along with other minorities, is playing a pivotal role in the development of the country and our Christian brothers and sisters’ role has been outstanding in different sectors where they work with us for the betterment of the society,” he said while addressing a cake cutting ceremony held in connection with forthcoming Christmas at Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh.
Christmas gives the message of love, peace and brotherhood, Nasir said and added that police will provide foolproof security to the members of the Christian community during Christmas celebrations at churches and all other public places.
Minority lawmakers Haroon Imran Gill and Peter Gill, Lahore DIG (Operations) Muhammad Waqas Nazir, DIG (Investigation) Inaam Waheed, SSP (Operations) Captain (r) Mustansir Feroze, CTO Capt (r) Liaqat Ali Malik, SSP (Admin) Muntazir Mehdi, SP (Headquarters) Syed Karrar Hussain, Bishop of Lahore Irfan Gill and Bishop Sebastian along with other Christian leaders and police officers belonging to the Christian community were also present.
The CCPO and other top police officers extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community members whereas the minority MPAs, bishops and other religious leaders lauded Lahore police’s efforts for providing foolproof security to the community and making special security arrangements ahead of Christmas.
CCPO Nasir and CTO Capt (r) Malik also distributed Christmas Eidi among Christian traffic wardens and grade four employees of Lahore police.
