Opposition submits requisition for PA session

United opposition in Punjab Assembly has submitted a requisition on Tuesday to convene an assembly session to discuss deteriorating security situation in the province. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-backed opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmad made the request on behalf of both opposition partners – PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) – along with several other parliamentary members belonging to his party.
PPP representative Zulfiqar Gondal said around 113 members of the opposition benches, including five members of the PML-Q, signed the request. He said the request was made in wake of the Mianwali and Faisalabad incidents.The parliamentary leader demanded that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and law minister to appear before the house.
