Five unhygienic food points sealed in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed five unhygienic food points and imposed thousands of rupees fine on several others for having poor cleanliness condition while warnings were issued to several others.

In line with directives of PFA Director General (DG) Captain (r) Muhammad Usman, the food safety teams checked the quality of food items on various food points in Rawalpindi city and surroundings.

The PFA sealed five food points over unhygienic condition, poor arrangements of cleanliness and selling substandard food. A huge quantity of substandard food items was also disposed of during the operation.

PFA also imposed Rs96,000 fine on various food points having unhygienic conditions and selling substandard food. Meanwhile, warnings were issued to several other food points of Rawalpindi and surroundings to improve unhygienic condition and quality of the food items.
