On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, a 70 kilometers long ring road would be constructed in Rawalpindi. The feasibility report of the project has also approved by Chief Minister Punjab.
In a statement, RDA Director General Makeen Shahbaz said that the Rawalpindi would also have an economic zone. The construction of ring road and economic zone would cost Rs. 70 billion. In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic in Rawalpindi, a 70-kilometer long ring road from Rawat to Fateh Jhang airport would be constructed, he said. The ring road would also have a dozen interchanges.
Will Never happen.
These people think that punjab means Lahore.
but when actually it can be started. I think after feasibility there woould be design phase and then to award contracts for construction. May be after 4 years will start construction? completion after 8 years or so.
no chance. if not in lahore. khadimay punjab not interested
Shahbaz is too busy beautifying lahore to bother
i think this just political juggling………….shshbaz sharif has been chief minister many times but he was never serious about………….any way this time if he succeed will be translated as big political win for PMLN, when it is challaged by imran khan Tareek e insaf…!!
pakistan sirf lahore mein hai sir us k bhir dusra mulk hai shahbaaz sirf naam ka hai
i think when PML-N gov will start than it will started.
ya you right
ring road is on the cards, this is the time for investment
ring road project must start before airport opens please do not ignore rawalpindi and srrounding areas will gona benefit too and less trafick on gt road inner rawalpindi and do not polish stones china is roll model
i think it is an extremely good decision. the feasibility must be completed earliest possible. It must be started earliest possible and as Mr. Riaz suggested, should be completed along with the New Islamabad Airport for allied benefits. Like the Lahore Ring Road it will give a lot of political mileage to PMLN . RDA deserves the credit for presenting the idea and should now ensure that feasibility is completed post haste.
my own views are little different about ring road ,the politics of rawalpindi always give hands to mian brothers ,many other parties become in government but PML [N] always wins in rawalpindi with great victory ,i my self like their love with country and neighbour countries, but i always look that there is no expenditure required for huge projects like sevrage or other projects wich we may say that goverment spend on rawalpindi ,in rawalpindi district alot of housing scheme who developed the whole city ,in city main roads are often blocked with traffic special murree road .
the ring road is not the need only for the resident of pindi but whole punjab and pakistan, if it would stop ,means never want the development of country and great loss of whole community ,if goverment decide to imliment on said project ,my great request is with the govermnt pls take care of peoples those sacrifice there costly lands for this project for the sake of whole country ,and pay them price acoording to the market rate and above ,these peoples always give there costly vote to PML N since the prime minister came into being as party leader ,this is on the record no one can forget or ignore this ,Great Pray for success of PML N.
if you want to build pakistan start from here 5 roads in one go with no head stones if you want to build motorway from lahore to karachi think of distance 5 roads 10 head stones sange e bunyad ifththa
Now its a time to wake up and do some thing like part of the Rawalpindi Ring Road "Rawat- Thalian section should be started now so it should be completed along with new Islamabad Airport it makes easy access to new Airport for the peoples of Jehlam, Gujrat, Mandi Bahuddin, Mirpur and Bhimber districts as well Rawalpindi district too. AND name for new Islamabad Airport could be Fatima Jinnah International OR Liaqat Ali Khan International.
new airport should be named asif ali bhutto zardari shaheed airport
