LAHORE: Prison authorities have allowed the family of incarcerated former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif to meet him on Saturday.
According to reports, Shehbaz’s family will meet the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president at his residence in the Ministers’ Enclave that has been declared a sub-jail.
Earlier, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had called on his younger brother in the federal capital and discussed matters related to the party in wake of the recent actions taken by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the opposition leadership.
Former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif has been in custody of the NAB since Oct 5 for his alleged involvement in Rs14 billion Ashiana scam.
Besides the ex-CM, bureaucrats Fawad Hassan Fawad and Lahore Development Authority (LDA) former director general Ahad Cheema are also under arrest for their alleged involvement in the housing scam.
The accountability watchdog had launched an investigation into the scam in November last year after receiving a number of complaints in this regard.
