Former Pakistan captain and fast bowler Waqar Younis slammed Najam Sethi over his statements regarding him as well as the working environment of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Waqar lambasted the former PCB chairman, saying that Sethi was playing ‘dirty politics’ as he is no more the chief of the cricketing board. “Your [Najam Sethi] days in cricket are well over dear..Stick to your dirty politics,” said Younis, in a tweet on Monday.

Earlier, in an interview the former PCB chairman revealed about his years while serving in PCB, Sethi claimed that former head coach Mohsin Hassan Khan used to badmouth former captain Wasim Akram but now he is quite happy to interact with him.

“Unfortunately, lobbies do exist in our cricketing structure, there is this Karachi, Lahore tussle as well, which cannot be denied,” stated Sethi, while talking to local media.

Talking about Waqar Younis who worked as Pakistan cricket head coach before resigning in 2016, Sethi said he brought him back despite being advised against it.

His performance was not up to the mark and he later started speaking against me, he said. “I don’t what I have done wrong by him; I was the one who brought him,” said Sethi.
