SARGODHA: Police on Monday arrested a man, along with six others, who allegedly killed an infant after being told to do so by a “spiritual healer”.
According to the details, the father, Mutahir Rasool, killed his 18-month-old daughter for she was under the influence of an “evil spirit”.
The police have arrested the father along with six other accused and registered a case against them.
When the body of the infant was brought to Sargodha District Headquarters Teaching Hospital by the parents, the doctors found cuts and bruises on its arms and alerted the police.
Tahir Rasool had divorced his wife six months ago and forcefully kept the daughter with him, the local police said.
An investigation into the matter is underway and facts will soon be revealed, they added.
