LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was working on a comprehensive programme to empower the youth as 60 per cent of the country’s total population consisted of youngsters.
“They [youngsters] are a ray of hope for the entire country and we can cover the journey to progress on a faster pace by imparting skill-based education to them,” he said while talking to a delegation of youngsters at the Chief Minister’s Office.
He said the new generation was blessed with wonderful capabilities and was determined to serve the nation.
“The future of a new Pakistan depends on the youth and unfortunately rulers of the past did not invest in them. They did nothing to empower our future,” the chief minister said and added that the government was devising a comprehensive policy to benefit from the asset that youngsters are.
“The PTI government will utilise all-out resources to implement a policy that favours the youth and the destiny of any nation can change if due rights are provided to its youngsters.”
The nation has high hopes attached to its talented and intelligent youngsters, he said.
“Pakistan belongs to all of us and we should work together for its progress.”
