LAHORE: A visually impaired girl flew from the United States to tie the knot with a former Pakistani visually impaired cricketer in Bahawalpur.
According to media reports, Brittney Montgomery and Mujeebur Rehman met on Facebook and became friends. Following their friendship, Montgomery embraced Islam, two years ago, before flying to Bahawalpur and tying the knot with the fast bowler.
However, this is not the first time a woman has flown across the globe to tie the knot with a Pakistani man after meeting on social media.
Earlier this year, Mary Kathleen travelled all the way to Haripur to marry Adeel Awan whom she met on Facebook.
In another social media marriage, a Canadian woman Agnetha travelled to Pakistan to tie the knot with the love of her life, Qaiser Abbas who she met online.
A similar incident occurred on November 20, 2017, when a Chinese woman travelled to Pakistan to be with a man from Layyah she met in 2015.
