A sum of Rs 100 million was released by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government as a bridge loan to compensate for the Agency Development Fund (ADF) and to pay the expenses of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), a local media house reported.

Earlier this year, the ADF was abolished when the 25th Constitutional Amendment Bill came into effect proposing the merger of tribal areas with KP.

According to a notification quoted by the local media outlet, “The amount shall be returned by the merged district secretariat in a lump sum on the receipt of the authentication of ADF from the federal government.”

Furthermore, “Bajaur will receive a total of Rs10 million, Mohmand will get Rs18 million while Rs5million will be given to Khyber, Rs17million to Orakzai, Rs20million to Kurram and Rs15million each to North and South Waziristan.”
