LAHORE: Four-day “All Pakistan Inter-University Drama Festival 2018” started at the Government College University (GCU) Lahore on Tuesday, in which a number of different educational institutions are participating.
The dramatics clubs of top fifteen universities of the country, including Punjab University, Kinnaird College, LUMS, UET Lahore, BZU Multan and Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, would perform at the festival on different topics ranging from corruption and tolerance to women empowerment.
The GCU Dramatics Club opened the festival with its Urdu play “Roshni Ka Safar”.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah highlighted the varsity’s age-old tradition of staging intellectually stimulating plays and said that theatre was not only meant for entertainment, but it also reformed the society.
The dramatics clubs of FCC, LUMS, UCL and Kinnaird Collogue will stage their performances at the festival today (Wednesday).
