Two women, who were going home after attending a wedding, were crushed by a container that overturned near Tahirwali village on Karachi-Lahore-Peshawar (KLP) highway.
Rescue 1122 officials said that the container was travelling to Lahore as a tyre burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle. A crane was brought in to lift the container which was carrying hundreds of litres of diesel.
Ahmedpur East AC, National Highways and Motorway police officials and senior police officers cordoned off the motorway section for some time which disrupted the flow of traffic.
