QUETTA: Two civilians who died in the attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi on Friday were laid to rest in Quetta on Saturday.

The father and son, identified as Niaz Muhammad and his son Zahir Shah respectively, were at the visa section of the Chinese consulate at the time of the attack.

The father-son duo had been running a clothing business in China for more than a decade and were visiting the consulate for visas.

Niaz Muhammad’s younger brother Habibur Rehman criticised the Sindh government for failing to provide an ambulance service to the family, saying that they bought the bodies back to Quetta on their own.

He also said that no official from the Balochistan government visited the grieving family or attended the funeral.

Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Noor Muhammad Dumar admitted no one had attended the funeral but added that a delegation will visit the family in the coming days.
