A youth died while his friend was seriously injured in the wee hours of Saturday when they were brutally assaulted by politically affluent men in a village called Saahowali, in the Sialkot Saddar Police precincts. Police said some armed men on late Friday night picked up two boys Mubashar and Rizwan from the their houses accusing them of stealing valuables including gold from the dera (outhouse) of a politically affluent man. Instead of handing them over to local police, the marauders took them to the same dera (outhouse). There they brutally tortured the boys throughout the rest of the night. The boys were beaten with iron rods, hockey sticks and bricks. The assailants also gave them electric shocks.
