Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that if rulers give any task to military to reduce tension in Karachi, army should accept it and work under the government’s instructions.
He said this while talking to media during his visit to the residence of renowned poet Khawaja Pervez (late), where he offered Fatiha for his eternal peace and passed on condolence to his family members on the death of the legend here on Saturday.
He said the situation in Karachi was extremely alarming, where the things had become unmanageable for the government that had already been failed to overcome the menaces of load shedding, terrorism, corruption, unemployment and price-hike.
He added that PML-N wanted to convene session of the parliament to discuss Karachi situation and the matter regarding the investigation of NICL scam.
He said that although taking decision to start operation in Karachi was the government’s prerogative but police and rangers had completely failed to defeat the terrorists.

  1. It is very unfortunate the Mian Nawaz Sharif while discussing situation in Karachi failed to point the perpetrators of the murders in one area of Karachi. He knows MQM was responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi but failed to say that.

I suspect it was due to the fact that he was antagonised by undue criticism from Mr Zardari in his recent speech. The MQM also pulled out of coalition and went to opposition benches.

Mr Nawaz Sharif who was pursuing a principle politics detracted from that and deemed it fit to woo MQM on his side despite the fact that he had solemnly resolved not to enter into a coalition with MQM as he quite rightly considered MQM as a terrorist organisation,

Coming back the theme of this news story, I welcome Mr Nawaz Sharif for supporting Army action in Karachi if the situation demands. His statement will not be liked by his new friends (MQM) though. Mr Nawaz Sharif should not let the MQM thugs gain respectability. What they need is to be told that act of terrorism will lead them to no where.
