ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday summoned a report regarding the compromise deal reached between the murderer and the victim’s husband in an honour killing case.

A two-member bench of the SC presided over by Justice Azmat Saeed took up the case for hearing and ordered the Jhelum district sessions judge to submit a report on the matter within a month.

The accused, Muhammad Waqar, had killed his sister in 2012 and made a compromise deal with her husband of his deceased sister later.

The accused had filed a petition in the SC for accepting their compromise deal.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
