Two underage bikers killed in Karachi

KARACHI: An underage car driver knocked down two youths riding a motorbike at Seaview, killing them on the spot.

According to a report in the local media, the incident took place near the Village Restaurant. The police arrested car driver Moiz Arif and seized the vehicle. Sahil police officer Hamraz informed that the driver was a 17-year-old student without a driving licence.

Meanwhile, four other people, including two children, were killed in road accidents in Surjani Town and on the Superhighway in separate incidents on Sunday.

In Surjani, two minor boys, riding a motorcycle, were hit by a dumber truck near Abdullah Mor. They sustained critical injuries and were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

Separately an Edhi Foundation spokesperson shared that a teenager and a man died while five others, including three women, were injured when a car and a truck collided near Nooriabad, on Superhighway.

Meanwhile, the city police chief in a programme held at Seaview revealed that three persons die and seven become disabled in road accidents in the metropolis on daily basis on account of over-speeding, violation of one-way and lack of use of indicators while driving, officials said.
