ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Deputy Director Muhammad Ayaz, who had been reported missing on Friday, has said that he is safe and visiting family in Dera Ismail (DI) Khan.

“I am with my family in DI Khan and am safe and sound… I had lost my mobile,” Ayaz said in a video message while also thanking authorities for their concern.

Earlier in the day, police had cited a complaint registered by Ayaz’s brother-in-law, Hassan, and said that the CDA official went missing from the Aabpara Police Station area on Thursday night.

According to reports, Ayaz had left his office at 02:30 pm on Thursday and was in touch with his wife until 8 pm.

However, that was the last his family heard of him as both his numbers were switched off later. The family looked for Ayaz at his office in the G-6 area of the federal capital but could not find him.

It merits a mention here that the news comes days after the martyrdom of Peshawar Rural SP Tahir Khan Dawar, who was abducted from Islamabad last month and found killed in Afghanistan two weeks later.
