LONDON: Azad jammu Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Raja Farooq Haider has said it seems as if Shahid Afridi wants to play in Indian Cricket League (IPL), which is why he is giving controversial statements about his own nation.
Commenting on Afridi’s statement during a talk with the media, the AJK PM said that Afridi should focus on cricket and avoid talking about sensitive issues like Kashmir.
Raja Farooq Haider said that Kashmir is an issue of life and death for Kashmiris.
Earlier the cricketer had faced severe criticism regarding what he said about Kashmir in an event in London. On realising the gravity of matter, he tweeted a clarification saying that the Indian media is presenting his statement out of context and that he respects the freedom struggle of Kashmiris.
