In a bid to resolve intra-party rifts over party’s re-organisation drive, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif will meet disgruntled party leaders from Balochistan, including Khuda-e-Noor, to address their grievances.
Noor recently resigned as the chief organiser due to differences with the party’s top command on nominations of district office-bearers in Balochistan
The meetings are likely take place in the next few days.
The PML-N is coping with internal rifts at the district level following its reorganisation, after which angry PML-N workers claimed ineligible persons were nominated for the slots of district presidents and secretaries general without holding intra-party polls.
PML-N Balochistan chief organiser Khuda-e-Noor had resigned following Saranjaam Khan, another central leader of the PML-N in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on grounds of differences developed on party’s reorganisation without balloting.
After sending Makhdoom Javed Hashmi to woo Saranjaam, Nawaz has summoned disgruntled party leaders from Balochistan, including Khuda-e-Noor, in Lahore this week to sort out differences in the party’s ranks.
Noor confirmed he would meet Nawaz in Lahore in the next few days.
“The PML-N chief has not accepted my resignation yet and has called me to Lahore to sort out the differences,” he said.
Noor said the PML-N workers in Balochistan were upset over the nominations of district office-bearers. “A large number of PML-N workers have tendered their resignations at the union and tehsil level bodies and also from various party wings,” he added.
