Nick Jonas may have had several high-profile relationships with stars such as Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Lily Collins, but the 26-year-old singer feels he is able to reveal all that’s behind his showbiz exterior to wife-to-be Priyanka Chopra.
“You have to be honest with your other half. That’s where the beauty of a real relationship is, being able to be your authentic self,” Jonas said, while speaking to USA Today. “I have that in my life now.”
Nick further shared that Priyanka has fit into his family well and that made him extremely happy.
“It’s been really beautiful. Really nice. That’s the most important thing in my life, maintaining a close-knit circle of friends, family and loved ones.”
Speaking about the attention the couple receives from the global media, he says that the two “have to hunker down together and be real out of the spotlight.”
“It’s really about trying to keep as much time as you can for yourselves. Not letting the outside world penetrate the world that you create for each other, or the world with your family and friends and your inner circle,” Jonas remarked.
Earlier, while talking about their relationship, Priyanka has shared that she chose Nick as her life partner because he respected and trusted her.
“Truly this is what worked for me, he has to be someone who respects you. By that, I don’t mean makes coffee for you, not that. But someone who respects the hard work you put into your life,” the 36-year-old actor had said.
Priyanka had said that trust is of utmost importance in a relationship.
“Everything is easy when you give each other credit for your intelligence, you give each other the benefit of the doubt because you trust each other. There’s so much that comes out of that. I think don’t settle for less than that.”
Meanwhile, People reported that Nick and Priyanka have obtained a marriage license. The report stated that the couple visited the Beverly Hills courthouse last week to fill out the necessary paperwork.
The stars plan to file the license in both Chopra’s native India and the United States in order to make their marriage official in both countries.
While a wedding date has not yet been disclosed, Priyanka, last weekend celebrated with a bachelorette party in Amsterdam. Reports suggest that the couple, who got engaged in July in a traditional roka ceremony in Mumbai, are expected to tie the knot on December 2 at Rajasthan’s Mehrangarh Fort in an extravaganza that may stretch over days.
