LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Thursday said that fight against corruption will continue despite the “hue and cry” of the opposition, mainly the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
“How ironic is it that people like Rana Mashhood, whose entire political career is tainted with corruption, is accusing the prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of the same,” he said while reacting to the allegations leveled by Mashhood against Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI.
“Leveling allegations aside, a self-proclaimed PML-N spokesperson like him [Rana Mashhood] should not even dare to leave the house and face the people knowing the mega corruption he and his party have been involved in.”
“Mashhood is the one who caused losses worth millions of rupees to the national exchequer in the name of youth festival and awards,” he said and advised PML-N leaders to refrain from criticising the premier and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar “just for the sake of cheap publicity”.
