ISLAMABAD: A retired scientist lost Rs3 million within 17 hours from his bank account via suspected fraud transactions.
Dr Yousuf Khilji, who had saved the money as part of his pension and gratuity funds, lost it to suspected fraud transaction between October 25 and 26.
Khilji said he informed the bank and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) but received little response.
Frustrated with the lack of progress, Khilji appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar to help him in the matter.
Last month, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) sent out instructions in the wake of cyber-attack on Bank Islami Pakistan.
Bank Islami Pakistan and six other banks temporarily suspended the use of their debit cards for overseas transactions.
