RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Literacy, Raja Rashid Hafeez, on Sunday declared a full-fledged campaign against illegal encroachment and land mafia, saying that action will be taken against the influential people according to the law.
He expressed these views during a visit to the Rawalpindi Press Club (RPC). Addressing the media men on the occasion, he said that the government would fulfil all its promises with the masses and would come up to their expectations. He said that an effective mechanism would be introduced to eliminate the curse of corruption.
The minister categorically said that the government was determined to curb the menace of corruption in the province, every penny of the public would be safeguarded and spent transparently for their welfare.
Speaking about the ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ campaign, he said that the movement intends to make the surroundings clean and green through changing the publics mindsets and behaviours. He appealed to the people for an active participation in the nation-wide cleanliness campaign.
Minister Raja Rashid Hafeez assured that the problems faced by journalists would be solved on a priority basis.
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Arif Abbasi, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Chairman Asif Mehmood, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) President Afzal Butt, Senior Joint Secretary Abid Abbasi, as well as Sultan Shah, Khalid Chaudhry, Sardar Sadaqat, Faisal Mansoor and other journalists were present on the occasion.
