The Lahore High Court Chief on Thursday issued contempt notices to Punjab Post Master General Jan Khattak and Post Master General (Central Punjab) Nasir Hassan.
Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry also directed both officers to appear before the court on July 11 and explain their position on a plea filed by Uzma Saleem.
The petitioner pleaded that she used to work as a junior clerk (BS-7) in postal department when she was asked to work as assistant mistress (BS-14) in 2003 to teach Arabic in the Pakistan Post Model Girls High School on Multan Road Lahore. She said during the period 2003-2009, she sent several applications to the respondents seeking the official designation for her job as teacher but to no avail.
The petitioner further said that when she moved the LHC after six years of waiting, the LHC ordered respondents to pay her salary and other allowances as per BS-14 pay scale. She said that Post Master General (Central Punjab) Nasir Hassan in response to her petition issued a fake order dated November 3,2009, whereby the petitioner had been repatriated to her parent unit as a clerk. The petitioner is now pleading the court to set aside the impugned order.
