KARACHI: More than 25 shops were looted by robbers at the popular MA Jinnah Road on Thursday night.
The incident came to light on Friday morning when shopkeepers arrived to open their shops for the day. The locks had been broken and cash and valuables worth millions of rupees were missing.
The shopkeepers, whose shops have been looted, staged a protest demonstration and accused the law enforcement agencies of negligence and incompetence in curbing crime.
According to police reports, a gang comprising at least 20 members looted the shops after breaking the locks with gas cutters.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against unidentified robbers and investigation is underway.
