The embarrassment caused by the so-called ‘biscuit trophy’ of Pakistan-Australia T20I series has irked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after which it is expected to take action against those responsible, a report published in local media said.
According to the report, the board is investigating the matter of sponsorship contract which is awarded to the same company over and over again. It also plans to revamp the marketing department following the embarrassment.
PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani has also raised questions about marketing team’s performance, the report claimed, adding that when the PCB hierarchy investigated about the trophy clearance matter, it was revealed that board officials including Naila Bhatti gave approval for the cup without having a glimpse of it.
Following the embarrassment, the PCB has finally decided to uplift its marketing depart, which currently consist of 13 members, it adds.
