ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Sunday reached Turkey on a three-day official visit on the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During his visit, the president is scheduled to attend and address the opening ceremony of the newly built international airport in Istanbul.
The event would also be attended by the heads several other states and government officials. He is likely to hold bilateral meetings with Turkish president and other leaders too.
Pursuing the government’s ongoing austerity drive, the president opted to travel through the commercial flight.
Setting aside the protocol, the president himself got his luggage security screened and went through the immigration process after awaiting his turn in the queue.
