KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) Rabita Committee on Saturday accepted Farooq Sattar’s resignation from before issuing him a notice over alleged violation of its discipline and announcing a 22-member committee, a private media outlet reported.

The decision was made at a party meeting held at the Bahadurabad office of the MQM-P.

Rabita Committee Kunwar Deputy Convener Naveed Jamil said they desired Sattar not to leave them.

“But everyone has to follow the party’s discipline,” he told the media.

Sattar, who had announced the 22-member committee last week to steer the party out of the organisational crisis, said he was issued a show-cause notice for demanding a democratic right of the workers.

He said that dictatorship of a few individuals prevailed in the MQM-P and there is no democracy within the party.
