LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways on Wednesday has suspended the operations of Lahore-Wazirabad train service, Babu Passenger Train, for an indefinite period.

According to a notification issued by the railways’ department, “The train service has been halted but did not state a reason for the suspension.”

“The Babu Passenger Train; mostly used by the working-class and students used to depart Wazirabad at 5am and arrive at Lahore at 7am on a daily basis.”

“The train was the only source of transportation for the government workers and students,” a passenger said.

“In place of Babu Passenger Train they will now run Mianwali Express and Faisalabad Non-Stop trains which are in a loss,” he added.

Furthermore, the passenger also said, “If the railways’ department does not restore the train service then we will stage a protest.”
