The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared individuals with dual nationalities ineligible to take part in elections and has recommended that the government should pass legislation in this regard; a private TV channel reported her on Monday.
A meeting headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Hamid Ali Mirza passed a resolution against the individuals with dual nationality stating that they could not take part in elections to become members of the parliament.
The election commission also dismissed the reference submitted by Maulvi Iqbal Haider which sought to declare ANP Senators Haji Adeel and Zahid Khan ineligible.

Those holding dual residential status which qualifies them for either green cards or permanent residency, have no business to hold such public offices, which decide the fate of this country and its over Rs170 Million citizens. These men have no faith in the survival and integrity of this country, which explains why they have relocated their assets and families abroad.
