‘No law in Punjab to curb food adulteration’

No law exits to apprehend the adulterators in the province, while notification for Food Safety Bill has not been issued so far, PML-Q Punjab secretary information Muhammad Akram Chaudhary said addressing a press conference at Muslim League House on Sunday.
He alleged that chief minister was playing with the lives of the people by not notifying Food Safety Bill. PML-Q leader accusing the provincial chief executive of nepotism claimomg that a doctor namely Hamid Jalil working in BPS (18) in veterinary livestock and getting Rs 60000, has been appointed chairman Lahore Meat Company at a monthly pay of six hundred thousand rupees on the directions of the chief minister.
He maintained that there were two prices of meat in the province of which, one was Rs. 350 per kg, while another price of the meat, which was controlled by Meat Corporation working under the provincial government, was Rs. 485 per kg. PML-Q leader demanded of the provincial government to act upon the recommendations of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah’s Commission to give relief the flood affectees of the flood in Southern Punjab last year.
Replying to a query, he claimed that PML-Q chief, Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain was playing his role to protect the national institutions, while PML-N head, Nawaz Sharif was uttering statements against the stated institutions to appease the opponents of Pakistan. Responding to another question, he remarked that people had scene the rowdyism of the PML-N in the Azad Kashmir elections and claimed that at last Nawaz Sharif has accepted PML-N’s defeat in Azad Kashmir polls.
