Govt asks intending pilgrims to apply for India tour

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has asked the intending pilgrims to submit their applications for participating in Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti, being held in Ajmer Sharif of India next year.

The last date for submitting the applications is September 28, giving ample time for security clearance and completing other formalities. A non-refundable bank draft of Rs 1,000 is also required along with the application, officials said. The fee can also be deposited online in the account of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The original payment receipt must be attached with the application, photocopy would not be accepted. The annual celebrations will be held from March 7 to 18, 2019, in India’s Ajmer Sharif. The application forms can be downloaded from the website of the ministry.

Each successful applicant would be informed within a month after the balloting. Original passport and travel documents are required to be submitted three months prior to the departure. Indian Embassy does not accept the passports for stamping visa, if their expiry date is less than eight months from the Urs.

Such applicants must renew their passports at the earliest to avoid rejection of visa. The Indian Embassy accepts visa applications online and the applicants should fill the forms online and send it to the ministry.
