Many major roads in Lahore were blocked on Sunday during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to the metropolis, leading to massive traffic jams.
Despite PM Khan’s pledge of putting an end to VVIP protocols across the country, the premier was given a VVIP protocol with many roads, particularly the Canal Road, being blocked for security reasons.

A video shared on Twitter on Sunday showed PM Khan’s motorcade which included many BMW SUVs, putting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s austerity claims to shame.

Alternatively, a protest staged by the affectees of Eden Housing Society scam in the Zaman Park neighbourhood contributed to more roads being blocked.
Citizens were irked by the blockage of roads at a time when the rain had already slowed down traffic movement in the provincial capital.
