Preparations for printing by-election ballot papers finalised

ISLAMABAD: Preparations for printing ballot papers for the upcoming by-elections have been finalised by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The by-elections, scheduled to be conducted on October 14, will see polling for 11 National Assembly constituencies and 25 provincial assembly constituencies.

Printing of the ballot papers will begin after 10th of Muharram which falls on Friday.

According to reports, the Printing Corporation of Pakistan will be responsible for printing the papers with the Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Corps deployed at printing presses responsible for the task.

According to reports, a total of 96,00,000 ballot papers will be printed for 36 constituencies. 11, 00,000 will be printed for Sindh and Balochistan while 17, 00,000 will be printed for Punjab, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The Post Foundation Printing Press will print the papers for Punjab and Islmabad while the National Security Printing Press will do so for Sindh and Balochistan.

For KP, the publishing responsibility fall on Printing Press Corporation.

Overseas Pakistanis will also be able to cast their votes.

Registration process for 7,410 overseas voters was completed on September 17.
