Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had refused to sign the parole application after the demise of Kulsoom Nawaz.
Speaking to media representatives in London, he said that after the incarcerated Sharif family members refused to sign the parole application, he did it himself.
On Tuesday, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry had announced the government’s decision to release Nawaz and Maryam on parole to attend the funeral of former first lady Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
Kulsoom Nawaz, 68, died after months in a coma. She was diagnosed with lymphoma last year, barely a month after Nawaz Sharif was removed from office by the Supreme Court.
