We all know that the 80s was the time when the pop culture emerged and was making its way to the top. The 80s is not only remembered because of the fashion trends but the music culture and the TV shows.

The theme songs for the TV shows gave us the premise of the show and introduced the starring characters. Sure, some of them may have been corny (especially on some sitcoms), but the opening theme was just about as good as the show itself.

We took a rundown at the 90s theme songs that we grew up listening to and now we give something for the older people to remember.

Oh, how we miss the ’80s. You see, in those days, having access to four basic TV channels (and maybe a few more on cable, if you were lucky) meant that all the major networks had to fight to the death for your prime-time attention.

Here are the Top 10 we have listed in no particular order; happy reminiscing!

1 – Knight Rider

The repetitive robot synths of the Knight Rider theme song made believers of us all. We believed that technology could create a car with a brain. The steady rhythmic drive of the opening theme imitated the thinking, living brain of the car, and it created excitement about what would happen in each episode.

2 – Air Wolf

Everybody loved the techno beat. Also because who did not love some military action as the crew undertook various missions, many involving espionages, with a Cold War theme.

3 – Full House

We all loved Uncle Jessie and Uncle Joey. Raising three girls as a single dad, Danny Tanner sure did a good job with cute little messages telling the audience the importance of family and sticking together as a single unit. The sibling fights were just an added bonus we all could relate to.

4 – Perfect Strangers

Who remembers Balki Bartokomous?

5 – The A Team

The A-Team theme was the best one ever and was repeated by fans repeatedly. The brassy melody and upbeat rhythm have never failed to amaze us.

6 – CHiPs

The music is a merging of the late 70s and early 80s disco elements, with wah-wah guitar, twin trumpets and funk beats. The music parallels the excitement and energy of the drama about two motorcycle cops working in the California Highway Patrol.

7 – Miami Vice

It had action, excess, fashion, Don Johnson, and, of course, the soundtrack of the ’80s. The theme song topped the Billboards in 1985.

8 – The Golden Girls

This theme was the show, in a nutshell, delivering a message of laughter and love. It’s just one of many TV shows which took over an existing hit and gave it a completely new and different life.

9 – The Fall Guy

The Unknown Stuntman indeed.

10 – The Jeffersons

I dare you not to move your feet and your hands to this one.

SPECIAL MENTION:

We couldn’t help but give The Flinstones a mention here. We know it is from the 60s and was an animated show… but we all know that…Flinstones…meet the Flinstones.. they’re a modern stone-age family.

I bet you sang that.
