Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited has entered into an agreement with N. Serve Environmental Services GmbH, a leading German private company, for the development and implementation of a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) at its Sadiqabad plant under the guidelines issued by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol.
The central feature of the Kyoto Protocol is the requirement that countries limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions to set levels. The CDM allows emission-reduction projects in developing countries to earn Certified Emission Reduction (CER) credits, each equivalent to one tonne of CO2. These CERs can be traded and sold, and used by industrialized countries to meet part of their emission reduction targets under the Kyoto Protocol.
N. Serve Environmental Services GmbH specialises in developing and financing high quality greenhouse gas emission reduction projects globally and is a world-leading expert for nitric acid (N2O) abatement projects. Press Release
