Jansher Khan hopes PM Imran Khan to bring de-tract sports back on track

PESHAWAR: Former Squash World Champion Jansher Khan congratulated Imran Khan and his team for becoming 22nd successful Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan and hoped he would take concrete steps in addressing the deteriorating condition of sports in the country.

“In his leadership, Pakistan will become an excellent state of the world by achieving marvellous success during his tenure,” Jansher added. Jansher Khan also hoped that the PM Imran Khan and IPC Sports Minister Fehmida Mirza will play a special role for the resumption and success of sports.

Jansher Khan further said that as the PM himself has been a great sportsman, so no one can better understand the problems of sports. Jansher Khan highly appreciated the step for announcing of launching a new sports channel of PTV.

Jansher Khan further said that there is no lack of squash talent in Pakistan. He urged that more tournaments should be organized by giving priorities to the players at grassroots level besides introducing new talent. “It will dramatically attract new players towards this game and it is the only solution to make Pakistan squash successful,” he added.

Jansher Khan also appreciated Serena hotel for extending sponsorship to Pakistan Squash Federation for holding international squash event for both men and women wherein players from other leading countries are also taking part.

These events, he said, would give due to opportunities to the male and female players of players to come up and better their international rankings.

He expressed the hope that the players of Pakistan would do their best in the Chief of the Air Staff International tournaments currently underway in Islamabad.
