IIUI delegation discusses cooperation with HEC chief

ISLAMABAD: A high-level delegation of the International Islamic University of Islamabad (IIUI) headed by its rector and president on Tuesday called on Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Tariq Banuri to discuss matters pertaining to cooperation between the universities of Muslim countries and issues such as initiation of new educational projects.

The IIUI delegation was comprised of Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai, President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, vice presidents Dr Muhammad Munir, Dr Muhammad Tahir Khalily and Dr Aqdas Naveed Malik. The HEC chairman thanked the IIUI delegation and appreciated the services of the varsity especially its role in the field of linkages, solutions to the challenges and dialogue.

He said that the universities must be given opportunities for linkages. He wished for the projects that advanced universities must cooperate with the developing ones. He also stressed for a well-linked cooperation between Muslim world universities.

IIUI delegation hoped that during the tenure of Dr Banuri, academic excellence and higher education will continue to improve. The IIUI rector and the president assured that the university would be amongst the leading ranks to be a bridge for linking the Islamic world varsities and also hailed Dr Tariq Banuri for efficiently handling the affairs of the commission.
