KARACHI: Quetta-bound Hajj pilgrims arriving from Madinah on Wednesday protested at the Jinnah International Airport over a delay in their departure.

It was reported that the passengers were frustrated for not being able to find a connecting flight to Quetta after landing in Karachi, their transit destination.

The stranded pilgrims’ demonstration impeded the flight operations at Karachi airport, making the arrival and departure of passengers from other flights difficult.

In December 2017, the Airport Security Force (ASF) tortured passengers, who were protesting over a 16-hour delay in flight at Benazir International Airport in Islamabad.

The ruckus erupted when enraged people chanted slogans against the administration over flight delay which was scheduled to leave for Abu Dhabi.

Two people also fell unconscious after being assaulted.

The protesters said that visa expiry date of several passengers was today due to which they were pressurising the airport management to arrange the flight as early as possible.
