Pakistan Railways paid tribute to martyrs and ghazis with reference to Defence and Martyrs Day, which is to be celebrated on September 6.
The Railway department decorated train bogies with pictures of army soldiers and officers, politicians, civilians and policemen who have given their lives for the country.
The pictures on the train included slain Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) former chairman Benazir Bhutto, Karachi police officer Chaudhary Aslam, school child Aitzaz Ahsan, APS students and principal Tahira Qazi and the army officers and soldiers who embraced martyrdom during 1948, 1965, 1971 and Kargil War.
Social media users appreciated the step as one wrote: “Brave souls of Pakistan, Allah inhain Jannat naseeb karay Ameen.”
Appreciating the step, another wrote: “Yessss and history all hero’s should be published too in school’s syllabus.”
Praising Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed, one wrote: “GOOD JOB SHEIKH RASHEED.”
