The United States (US) military chief will accompany US top diplomat Mike Pompeo when the later pays a visit to Islamabad later this week, according to US Defence Secretary James Mattis.
Mattis also said that the “the primary part” of the discussions would be the need to fight terrorists.
US Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman General Joseph Dunford said that the US had “permanent interests in South Asia” and wants to “maintain a presence (there) to have influence in that region”.
