LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday said the dilapidated conditions of hospitals would be improved and the provision of quality healthcare facilities to everyone would be ensured in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘Naya Pakistan’.

Speaking during his visit to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Mian Channu, the chief minister said that patients’ complaints with regard to healthcare facilities would be addressed on a priority basis and a zero tolerance policy would be adopted by his government against the negligent attitude of hospital staffers across Punjab.

He ordered to make functional the dialysis machines at the hospital within 15 days and said it was regrettable that medical equipment was available but there were no arrangements to operate it. “I will not allow the resources of the nation to be wasted like this,” CM Buzdar said.

He also said that funds would be allocated in the budget for the establishment of a trauma center at THQ Mian Channu.

Earlier, the chief minister inspected different wards of the hospital and inquired the patients about the medical facilities being offered there. He also visited the emergency ward, OPD and other sections of the hospital.

Separately, CM Buzdar visited the shrine of Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakkar in Pakpattan and laid a floral wreath there. He then met with the parliamentarians of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at Canal Rest House and exchanged views on different matters.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that they had to work together as a team to help build a new Pakistan. “We will work tirelessly to solve the problems of the people. All of you should keep a close liaison with the people and make all-out efforts to solve their problems,” he said.
